This week we have talked about the glory of God! There are many elements that deserve further study, but the greatest realization of God’s glory comes from experiencing it for yourself! And the good news is we can all experience God’s glory. In fact, even better we can carry God’s glory! People can tell us this, we can read it in the Word of God, but when we really receive the revelation of this truth, and when God, by His grace, allows us to usher in His glory – there is nothing to be compared – it makes everything worth while. read more...

I have often in the back of my mind (and heart) wondered why the penalty for Moses smoting the rock at the waters of Meribah was so severe. After all, didn’t God know that the people were stick-necked? Hard-hearted:? Complaining? Even God was ready to wipe them off the face of the earth, and Moses as God’s special friend interevened (Exodus 33:5). I am sure that you and I would have been just as exasperated with the children of Israel as Moses was – and yet after forty years of dealing with them – Moses never got to enter into that place of promise! read more...

22-24 Aaron lifted his hands over the people and blessed them. Having completed the rituals of the Absolution-Offering, the Whole-Burnt-Offering, and the Peace-Offering, he came down from the Altar. Moses and Aaron entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out they blessed the people and the Glory of God appeared to all the people. When the Glory Falls!

In the forty plus years that I have come into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, I have experienced many great services. There were times when I felt like I was in a service that I hoped would never end, that we would all be translated into heaven where the glory that I felt would go on forever. It is at those times that I know that I really can leave this earth when its’ time and joyfully enter into the eternal presence of the Lord where there will be continual praising and worshipping God! Now I have to admit that though this has not been my experience at every service, the ones where I felt it have kept me pressing for more – and yet how do you receive God’s glory? What makes the glory fall? The unmistakable presence of God among His people – worship that makes your heart leap for joy – love that exudes from breast to breast – intimacy with the Father and kinship among the brethren – we all want it, but most of us don’t have a clue as to how to get it! read more...

Have you ever read about or met a person that you admire so much, but you don’t want to go through what they went through to become the notable person they are? Well, that’s how I feel about Corrie Ten Boom. I would not want to live through what she lived through – living in Nazi Germany, harboring Jewish refugees, winding up in a German prison camp, and so on… She went through life threatening, life altering circumstances, but the operable word is – she lived through them! Last night on “The 700 Club” I heard Pat Robertson respond to a question that a listener had asked: if God could not protect Jesus from death on the cross, how could she trust Him to protect her? It was a question that few would tackle probably feeling that it borders on blasphemy.
