Are You Ready for an Upgrade? Part I by Wesley Stringfellow

August 30, 2010

Editor:Wesley and Neesha Stringfellow decided years ago, even when their own marriage was in its; early days that they hated what they saw happening to so manyof their friends marriages. They determined to bring couples together in fellowship, and through various programs that would help them discover ways to strengthen their marriages. In time the Marriage Ministry of HeartLife Ministries was born. Under their leadership hundreds of couples have participated in a “marriage get-away” held now every October. Wesley and Neesha are leading a week-long series of articles on God’s first design for human relationship – marriage! Enjoy! read more...

It’s That Time Again!

August 27, 2010

The mission of HeartLife Ministries is to strengthen the body of Christ through teaching, preaching, and reaching hearts with sound doctrine and programs that positively impact wholesome Christian living. One of our greatest efforts is to support and enhance the marriage union. We believe that God’s original design is not only essential for healthy families, but it is also essential for healthy communities. Much of the peril we see in our communities today is as a result of the serious attacks contemporary society has experienced with the nuclear family!
.
To that end, each year HeartLife Minisries sponsors a Marriage Retreat where couples have the opportunity to “get away” from their regular routine in a beautiful setting and fellowship with other couples, attend life-changing seminars, have fun, network, and rekindle their love and passion. This year’s theme: “Are You Ready for an Upgrade!” This year’s retreat will be October 22 through 24, 2010. read more...

Life is in the Blood! This Thing is So Simple! How Do We Miss It?

August 25, 2010

Foolish arguments and genealogies not only keep us at odd with each other, but totally in confusion with what we really believe. Yet, if we take God at His Word, this thing is so simple, a fool can’t err! God did not want to charge for salvation – for then it would only be for the rich; nor did He want to have to work for salvation, for then it would only be for the strong; and certainly He didn’t want us to have to figure out salvation, for then only the intellectual could attain it! No salvation was made free, simple, and easy – it is only a decision away. read more...

The Bottom Line!

August 25, 2010

The Apostle Paul was no punk – (forgive the contemporary terminology – but no other word seems to adequately be the opposite of who he really was). Paul was never intimidated with any group to share his faith. He was run out of city after city- but in each city that he went he stirred up crowds and got them talking about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everywhere he went, particularly because his main mission was to go to the Gentiles he got a response like the one that follows: read more...

Confidence! – Yes!

August 24, 2010

One of the things that the world says is an essential along with the tailored black suit is a huge dose of confidence! Knowing who you are and what you are capable of doing is a big plus when you enter the job market, or for that matter any market! It is no doubt that people that are unsure of themselves are taken advantage of, often rejected, and sometimes even despised. Confidence is a characteristic that goes a long way on this earthly terrain. read more...

Be Careful Who You Call Daddy!

August 23, 2010

I’ve been reading through the Bible this year and as much as you want to avoid it, eventually you come to Chronicles and Kings. There is a whole lot of history, a whole lot of detail, and long lists of family trees One thing becomes evident when you read about the Kings of Israel and Judah is the way the passage begins: read more...

How then Shall We Live?

August 20, 2010

There are certain things in scripture that I do not pretend to understand, I have to take them by faith! And there are also those scriptures that I see one way in a particular season, but as time goes on, I begin to see them another way – with more clarity. Having access to more than one version also helps to bring things into focus. For example, I begin to meditate on just what “walking in liberty” means. When the Holy Spirit first started dealing with me about legalism, I thought I understood what He was saying in the book of Galatians, which deals with this topic. However, in reading Galatians 5 in The Message I confess I have to go back to the drawing board again. Take a look at Galatians 5 beginning with the 22nd verse: read more...

When We Touch Jesus, We Become Whole!

August 19, 2010

It is hard to walk the streets of any major city and not get dusted by pollution. It may fall upon our hair, our clothes, or even cover our skin with an icky kind of film. Because it is in the air – we cannot protect ourselves from it. It’s the same way with life’s issues – as much as we may try to protect ourselves – sooner or later we find that “issues have clung to our tissues.” We carry around with us baggage we didn’t ask for – attitudes, strong opinions, fears, etc. – things that keep us from being totally free, things that keep us from being “whole!” read more...

Three Lies Trap Us Every Time!

August 18, 2010

There are three forces that will trap us every time – doubt, fear, unbelief! And for most of us they are all results of something happening to us in our lives that has caused us pain. Don’t take my word for it – retrace the events of your life – when did you doubt, what made you afraid, what tried your faith? What circumstances led up to falling victim to these three lies? What was your response? How long did it take for you to come to recognize the lie for what it was? It has been said, that it is not the temptation or the test that marks our spiritual maturity, but the length of time it takes to recognize that we are not giving the right response to those areas. read more...
