Many Still Want Truth!

I remember so the days of my youth, when in my innocence I would proclaim things like, “if people knew to do better, they would do better!” My driving passion to come a teacher was fueled with the vision of recreating society through knowledge.

Proverbs 9:7-9 (NLT) says:

7 Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return.
Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.
8 So don’t bother correcting mockers;
they will only hate you.
But correct the wise,
and they will love you.
9 Instruct the wise,
and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous,
and they will learn even more.

Unfortunately, all the world is not ready for truth. And those headed down the road to disaster will not readily receive it. Those who have the heart to know wisdom, will receive, and those who want to do right, are willing to learn righteouness.

I still hold to the adage that “to teach, is to touch a life forever, ” and as much as the stony faces and hard hearts discourage many a teacher, there is that one who one day remembers the lessons and turns their life around. And even now there are those who are crying out for wisdom, there are those who want to know the pathway to a righteous life – and success in their endeavors. It is these hearts that we must focus our energies. I always tell teachers, “look into their eyes and see their hearts.” It’s true, you can see the hunger in their eyes, the hopeful expectancy that you can point them to the way they need to go.

One of our partner affliates, Chosen Daughters of Destiny, an organization committed to working with young ladies, ages 10-24 is in the midst of recruiting those wise women who will give their energies to encouraging these young ladies as they journey down their road to destiny. Please pray that these wise women will come forth – and be willing to give of their time and energy to helping a young woman make good and godly choices. Our young men need this too.

We can look at the world and see some very rebellious young people, who will turn you off by their insolent ways – but for every one of them – there are five who will be so encouraged, by just a listening ear -or a word of encouragement. Wisdom is a precious commodity, that those who recognize fine things desire.

Selah,
Maria
