These are the words that I heard this night, and as I asked God what they meant, the Spirit of the Lord came to me saying that indeed this year is the year to “make His paths straight.” Years of confusion over the status of the church, and the affairs of this life have left far too many of God’s people in shambles. One of the cardinal rules for effective weight loss is not to look at the scale every day. Monitoring progress once a week is o.k., but there are often daily fluctuations that can cause discouragement and take you off your page. One reason for that is that sometimes you lose water weight and it appears that you are really making much more progress than you are; and then sometimes the converse is true – you may not have dropped the pounds yet on the scale, but by continuing on the plan, they will suddenly drop! read more...

The other day I heard a well known evangelist say that maybe we all need to take a Selah – to pause a moment – take time out and just stop what we’re doing – put everything on hold! That got my attention because in this season that is exactly what I am doing. There are so many things that need my attention – but I decided that what needs my attention more is taking away my attention from things – and focusing on the One who can give me direction. read more...

Last night I had a dream in which I was running for my life. It was much more dramatic than most dreams, it involved people in high places, and children that I was protecting from harm, it was a real suspense thriller! One of my daughters proclaimed that this is the year of the “take-back!” It is a common thing for people to make resolutions at the beginning of the year.
