Never Too Late for the Promise!
January 18, 2010
One of the things that happens as we grow older is that a kind of settling in comes over us . In some ways that is a good thing, for we fail to be as “anxious for things” as we used to be. In other ways it can be deadly, for it can cause us to come to a false belief that our time is done – it’s too late to fulfill that dream that never manifested in our life. We have to be content with things such as they are. read more...
Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?
January 17, 2010
Waking up this morning, I couldn’t help but think about some things that I was grateful for. I began to thank God for the home that i have, it was not my dream home, but my home has become my dream. I may not have the Ethan Allen furniture, or the granite counters on my sink, but I have such peace when I walk through the doors that gives me both a refuge and a place of contentment. I have so learned how to thank God for the things that He provided for me, and not be discontent with the things that I thought I wanted! read more...
The Measure of a Man!
January 16, 2010
It is not often that I am gender specific when I sit down to write, and of course when I am I feel more comfortable being specific to women than men. However, when I awoke very early this morning, I heard the words, “the measure of a man.” The world itself appreciates when there is a man, a real man, who will step forward in the power of his convictions and not be swayed by public opinion. While there may not be agreement, there is respect! read more...
A Sure Word!
January 15, 2010
Nearly everyone I talk to is involved in some kind of consecration. It is very exciting to think of the potential it will produce in the people of God this year. Often we inadvertently hope to get a Word – as we seek the Lord. How good to know we don’t have to wait! If we accompany our fasting with God’s Word – we find it’s already there! read more...
Stomp, Stomp, Stomp!
January 14, 2010
We’re about halfway into the first month of the New Year and i am sure that most of you, like me, are dealing with unexpected challenges. Of course we talked alot last year about perspective – and we want to continue to remember that our health and well-being depend largely upon our perspective. So challenge may not be the word you even want to use this year. However, one thing I don’t think we should forget is that there is a real devil, with real plans to take us off our course in any way he can! read more...
How Long Will You Grieve for Saul?
January 13, 2010
Once again I am compiling a list for a wedding. My youngest son is getting married! As I went through the list from my daughter’s wedding just a couple of years ago – I was amazed at the changes- there are people who are no longer here – many people have moved – so many changes – in just a couple of years… read more...
When All is Said and Done!
January 12, 2010
During the long days of winter there is so much time to think and reflect. Now that I’m in my senior years, too often the thoughts go back to “how I wish I would I have…” I wish I had been more adventurous, taken more risks, walked into some of the opportunities that were before me – It is so easy to look at celebrities, and other people who have made a name for themselves and to feel as if you really didn’t make the best use of your life. read more...
A Time of Intercession!
January 11, 2010
Many Christians take a portion of the month of January to seek the Lord for direction and purpose. It is a good thing to both contemplate and reflect in order to move forward with decisveness. Too many of us tend to linquer far too long in the valley of indecision. Often this time of seeking the Lord is acompanied by fasting and more prayer than usual. That is of course, a very good thing! read more...
Prepare Ye The Way of the Lord: Make His Paths Straight!
January 10, 2010
These are the words that I heard this night, and as I asked God what they meant, the Spirit of the Lord came to me saying that indeed this year is the year to “make His paths straight.” Years of confusion over the status of the church, and the affairs of this life have left far too many of God’s people in shambles. The cry has been, where is safe passage to my future? For those who have asked this, the spirit of the Lord would say unto you the same message as we find in Luke 3: read more...
