A Time of Intercession!
Many Christians take a portion of the month of January to seek the Lord for direction and purpose. It is a good thing to both contemplate and reflect in order to move forward with decisveness. Too many of us tend to linquer far too long in the valley of indecision. Often this time of seeking the Lord is acompanied by fasting and more prayer than usual. That is of course, a very good thing!
One of the things that we often forget is the power of the prayers that we are praying. When we pray, when we talk to the God of our salvation, and ask… He hears and He answers! The God who made the universe that we know and all that we don’t know is attentive to our heart’s cry. The God who created every person uinque not just in this time, but in all generations knows our name. The God who thought to make beautiful flowers and plants, who carved mountains and dug rivers and oceans, who flung galaxies of stars in the heavens, who carefully made every animal, every fish, every bug, is not only mindful of that which He created, but also those who He created!
When we hear of the news that speaks to us daily of a holocaust in the loss of innocence in our children, not only across foreign lands where child prostitution rages, but within our own borders, as our children have things that are put before their eyes and in their hearing that should not even be mentioned – we can find ourselves asking like the Psalmist…
Psalm 2:1
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
And yet if we continue reading this Psalm we see what God replies…
Psalm 2:8
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
As we seek God during this month, whatever way you petitio Him, remember that you can ask..
and the God who says, ask, also answers prayer.
God Bless You,
Maria
