We’ve Turned the Corner!
The other day at family prayer, one of my daughters stated God told her that she had “turned the corner” and things were going to begin to look up. Now this is a good word, that anyone would be happy to receive, but you and I both know that words like that usually come with testing. It was indeed tested in my daughter’s life, and fortunately she BELIEVED the word and withstood the test!
The spirit of this word had been ringing in my spirit and when she said it, it confirmed it for me. I too received this word – and I have taken it as a Rhema Word for this season. I believe that the testing and trials of 2009 are around the corner and that indeed I have TURNED THE CORNER onto a new pathway of blessings! And the word of God confirms it:
18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43: 18-19 (KJV)
I take this word as a solid promise that new things are on the way – that even the dry and worn places in the wilderness that have puzzled me in the past, shall be revealed and there will be no more desert, rather living waters will be my portion. In fact, on Christmas Eve when I was talking with another one of my daughters I got a revelation, that blessed me indeed! I began to understand what it really means to speak Words of Life and affirmation over your life and the lives of your children. Now you may be saying, Maria, that is kindergarten stuff, and I would say for some maybe – but you would have to know how vehemently I have fought entering into a positive thinking, and name it and claim it mentality. I do not believe that we uncover a “Secret” because we will it to be – that everything in our lives will come up roses – I accept and give honor to the God who is sovereign in my life – His Will may not always agree with mine – but I know it is best.
What hit me like a bolt of lightning from heaven, was how we can set words in motion from our lips that have powerful consequences, unknowingly! When the old folks used to say – “keep your mouth off of people” – they had good reason – when they used to say, “your reach can’t go higher than your aim” – there was truth in that!
Because it is still fresh bread in my oven of understanding – I’m going to leave it at this for a bit – I hope you will think about it – and perhaps share some insight from your understanding of this very spiritual concept. Until then, I hope that your Christmas was as filled with family and love as mine – and that you will go with God on a walk around the corner!
Maria
