Yes We Can Help Them Say – “NO”!
As the editor of LIfeLiines, I read and appreciate all of the responses to our daily post. Even if I don’t have opportunity to let you know personally – know that from the bottom of my heart I love every one of you who subscribe to HeartLife (now over 100) and who take the time to read it in the midst of your busy schedule. Today I want to provide one of the comments to yesterday’s post. It is from Pastor Doug Neal in South Bend:
I am seeing God open doors for us to have more direct influence in the lives of our youth in South Bend. Last night, part of my message came from Joshua 4 where men gathered stones as a memorial of God’s miraculous power taking the Children of Israel across the Jordan River. The stones were set up so that when the children asked about them, the adults could tell the story of what God had done.
We need to do the same for our children. We need to find memorable ways to pass our faith to this next generation. The remarkable thing about the stones is found in verse 9 which says, “and they are there to this day.” The godly things we give our children will last. They will stand the test of time. Even when we think they don’t get it, aren’t listening or don’t care, the “stones” will still remain. The time is now (KAIROS) to invest in our youth. It will not be a futile effort. When we train them up in the way they should go, when they get old they will not depart from it. Blessings
This evening in Aurora, Laeticia Benberry, Abstinence Educator, and other pro-life groups are sponsoring a teen rally called the “Pure Love Revolution!” This rally is to provide in a dramatic and entertaining way the message of God’s love and the plan He has for teens – the plan to remain abstinent until marriage. In a world that is saying “yes” to sex at an early age – we can teach our young people to say “NO!” We must not believe that they have no other choice but to resort to their baser instincts and act more upon their hormones than the restraint and virtue that God gives to those who ask. This group is not passing out condoms, it is not telling young people to have “safe sex” – the young people that attend tonight will hear live testimony of those who waited until marriage to share their love – and even a couple who waited until their wedding day to kiss for the first time!
WE BELIEVE FOR EVERY PROBLEM, THERE IS A GOD-GIVEN SOLUTION – please join in prayer for the Pure Love Revolution that will be the first of a series of meetings of this nature, across the Chicagoland area, for 12-19 year-olds. And if you live in the Aurora area, and have a teen that fits the age category (no younger children), please call (630) 896-2956 – there may still be some limited seating.
WE ARE IN A KAIROS MOMENT!
Maria
