Heaven On Earth!
“Something’s moving, something’s changing, see His glory, seems like Heaven on Earth!” -These are the words to the song by David and Nicole Binion that my three year old granddaughter sang to me unashamed last night. It’s in her spirit – she can’t stop singing it! I don’t think it’s the melody – forgive me for being deep, but I believe it is the Holy Spirit talking to us – through little Kirsten – it wouldn’t be the first time God used a child to get my attention. I can remember so clearly, as if it were yesterday, (even though it was at least thirty years) when I was experiencing a major stress factor and my son Stephen, also about three) came to me and spoke such a clear and accurate message for the situation and instructing me not to fear, that it shocked me into remembering that God was still God and fear was not a part of His benefit plan!
Our children are speaking to us – not just with words of comfort and encouragement, they are also unfortunately speaking to us of the counter culture that is getting a grip on their lives – that culture that is spread through music, videos, cartoons, people of authority – (like their teachers in school) – there are many powerful forces speaking very loudly to our children – and in ways that they will remember. How important it is for us to drive out those forces with the spirit of God! I urge you to play music reflective of your belief, to read the scripture with your children, to have them memorize scripture, to have them participate in the Christmas programs.
I am a firm believer in children participating in Sunday School or Children’s Church, whatever the venue in your local assembly – but it is equally important to reinforce what they are learning at church, by saying it to them at home, by showing them as children, (big or little children) that you also believe what the scripture says so much that it is a part of your daily life.
Let’s all take the message of the season – that is often drowned out – by the commercialism of our culture – the message of the Christ child – born as a baby – who came as the lamb of God to take away the sins of the world – make it personal – He came for me – He lived for me – He died for me – He brought for me, Heaven on Earth!
Luke 11:2
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Kairos,
Maria

Amen!
“Out of the mouths of babes” like Kirsten, we know God is moving by his spirit on the earth. God bless.
