Enter into His Gates With Thanksgiving!
This week we are going to go before the Lord with our gift of thanksgiving! If you would care to join me as we pray prayers of thanksgiving, just place them in the comments and together we will offer up a community of praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord who is “daily loading us with His benefits.” I am going to begin today with praying one of my favorite Psalms – the 100th division:
1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
55For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Father we do thank you and praise you for the opportunity You have given unto to us to come into Your presence – we understand what it cost our Savior to break the veil that separated us from You; but His death on the cross for the sacrifice of our sins, gave us the privilege to enter into this Holy place and come into your presence We thank you that when we come before You, we know that You hear us, and based on 1 John 5:14-15 we know, “this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
With this confidence we come asking that You receive our prayers, that You receive our thanksgiving, that You receive our praise. We are in awe of the knowledge that “You are mindful of man,” that You are concerned with what concerns us. Look upon Your people and have mercy. We pray a special blessing upon those whose hearts are heavy this day because of things they might be going through. Give them that faith to “look up and know that their redemption draws nigh,” for there is “temptation given except which is common to man, and…“God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (! Corinthians 10:13)
Therefore we pray Your word, that You as our Father, in the name of Jesus are keeping watch over the city according to Proverbs 11:11; and You who are concerned with that which concerns us will hear and answer prayer. We agree with Luke12:25-32(MSG):
“Has anyone by fussing before the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? If fussing can’t even do that, why fuss at all? Walk into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They don’t fuss with their appearance—but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them. If God gives such attention to the wildflowers, most of them never even seen, don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?
“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.”
Kairos,
Maria
