It’s All in the View!
I was looking at some family pictures on yesterday – it’s amazing how we change as we grow older. There was one thing that I noticed however, when i looked at pictures of my children and pictures of my grandchildren when they were babies, it was harder and harder to determine who was who. They looked so much alike when they were babies! This was something that I also noticed as I watched my Father show signs of age over the last couple of years – although he seemed to bear little resemblance to my grandmother in his prime – as he aged – he began to look remarkably like her! This is to me one of the mysteries of life!
As I reflected on the topic we discussed in our Monday morning prayer group, I thought of the way we see the things we go through, and how much different God sees them. The things that help us grow the most are the rainy seasons in our life. Those times when the sensitize areas of our life, those things we hold dear, are put under the torrential rains of tests and trials and often it is accompanied by an outpouring of tears, especially from us as women. Most of us at one time or another even ask the question how could a loving God allow our hearts to break this way? And if we really get into a pity party we even ask what have we done to deserve this?
We find scripture after scripture that confirms that God is with us and will never leave us or forsake us and yet time after time when we get challenged, we doubt the active presence of God in the situation. This is nothing knew. This is not a new phenomena – our forefathers did the same thing. Look at 2 Chronicles 32: 6-8:
6And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,
7Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
8With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
I want to speak into your life today those same words – whatever your king of Assyria is that you are facing today – be encouraged, be strengthened in the knowledge that you are not dependent upon your flesh to see you through this. The Lord our God is there to help you ad fight your battles! Often the times our heart breaks the most is the time that God is doing the most to heal it! Rise up in your most holy faith and be encouraged – this life we are living iin God is not a fairy tale – if you could only see the other view – there are more with you than you could ever imagine – and they are fighting for you to gain both heaven’s glory and earth’s reward!
God Bless You,
Maria

I was encouraged yesterday for my own life, I am beginning to recognize not to make excuses for things that don’t need them. The view is so important and sometimes we create a view to fit our mode when actually it was not the view of the word of God. I am encouraged to trust God completely and then …..lean not to my own understanding as Proverbs says, because it can get you into a place of trouble.
I agree mother, Its all in View!
I am learning to choose to view things differently!
Great word!
