Only One Life – No More Do-Overs!

News Flash! I have a praise report! It seems like just a few hours ago I wrote about a concern I was facing with one of my students – that I know I needed grace to handle properly. One of the reasons that I felt that way is because I had been at that place before – in fact, more than once. And don’t mind admitting – more than once I failed to have the right attitude – even when I did the right thing – I sometimes didn’t do it with the right heart.

Today God graced me with a special grace and more than grace – wisdom (Thanks Tish!) – it took a little while for me to get a plan, but by His grace – we got a plan that flowed so well I was surprised myself! I knew that I could not take credit for it – so I can brag on my God all day long. The only thing that I can take credit for was making a decision that I was not going to walk through another “do-over,” I wanted to pass this test the first time.

Even when I pray, I sometimes marvel at the results, because God never works in the way I think He’s going to work:

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out. Romans 11:33 KJV

So I praise Him for granting me wisdom to strategically create an environment where I could address the issues and concerns I had and then meet with success, and even more I praise Him for wanting to work through my issues – my past hurts and disappointments, my past feelings of resentment from being treated unfairly, my hesitancies in facing problems headlong – my desire that for the rest of my life, it be the best of my life with a determination for NO MORE DO-OVERS!
