Take the Church!

Specific prayers for specific answers: Today as we go into the house of the Lord, can we give thanksgiving that there is in this country houses of worship where we can with liberty and freedom raise up holy hands in God’s Presence. That we can still read God’s Word and hear the preached Word delivering the truth that will set us free and keep us free! That we can come together with people of like minds and hearts to assemble in fellowship and Christian charity to invoke the presence of the Lord to operate His Kingdom on earth – as it is in Heaven!

1 How lovely is Your tabernacle,
O LORD of hosts!
2 My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:1-2 (KJV)

Can we pray that God will call forth righteous leaders – pastors who have a pure heart for the lost, to teach and preach the gospel of the good news of Jesus Christ, not to make merchandise of the people of God, but to shepherd them as the Good Shepherd Himself, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave example. Can we pray that God will lift up the arms of the leaders with armor bearers who have faith in the life changing power of the gospel and believe that there is no greater calling than to be a servant of the most High God!

1 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?
Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?
2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
3 Those who refuse to gossip
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends.
4 Those who despise flagrant sinners,
and honor the faithful followers of the Lord,
and keep their promises even when it hurts.
5 Those who lend money without charging interest,
and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent.
Such people will stand firm forever.Psalm 15:1-5

Can we pray that God will be that lantern and compass, that road map to lead the lost to His Holy Place and when they come that they will be received with love and forgiveness and will be taught the way of salvation, the hope of the gospel, and the precepts that will enable them to live a Godly life.

3-4 Give me your lantern and compass,
give me a map,
So I can find my way to the sacred mountain,
to the place of your presence,
To enter the place of worship,
meet my exuberant God,
Sing my thanks with a harp,
magnificent God, my God. Psalm 43:3-4 (MSG)

Can we pray that the organizational aspects of the church will always keep in mind the primary focus of the church – to be that holy place where people can find God, love God and each other, worship Him in spirit and in truth, and gain power over all the power of the enemy that they might leave the house of God to do the works of Him that sent them.

1 O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
2 From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help
when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
3 for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
4 Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings! Psalm 61:1-4 (NLT)

Can the church say Amen and Amen!

God Bless You on this Lord’s Day!
Maria
