Take Back Your Dreams!

16But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

17And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams.

18Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy telling forth the divine counsels and predicting future events pertaining especially to God’s kingdom]. Acts 2:16-18 (AMP)

I will never forget the excitement that I had and the wonders I experienced when I first received the baptism of the Holy Ghost! Signs and wonders appeared; my prayers took on a new dimension of power; my loved ones who I never would have believed to even go to church, got saved!; I saw and experienced miracles – things that only God could do – limbs growing out before my eyes; pains in my back that I had suffered with for so long, was healed; a friend of mine who had a tumor in her head – the tumor disappeared after prayer! And that was just the beginning of a life of unexpected events that built up my faith to believe that this God that I had come to know could do anything!

As time went on, some of the excitement waned as I had to learn that God was not a genie – sometimes the answer was “yes”, sometimes “no” and most of the time it was “wait.” I longed for the mountaintop and too often I was in the valley. And yet, even with my lame spirit time after time God would come through for me in situations that I KNEW IT WAS HIM!

Even now, forty years later, I see God quickening me to believe for something that is impossible and time after time – He comes through. What I want most is to have a contagious faith – one that spreads beyond my heart into the hearts of others – I want to live so others will believe -as I do – that there is help and their is hope in God. I want to be that witness that encourages others to seek the face of God, and not trust in the empty promises of the world system!

Acts 1:8 (AMP)says:

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

This was my dream – to be an effective witness at home, outside of my neighborhood, even to as far in the world as the Lord would send me, I’m taking that dream back in the name of Jesus!
