I know it sounds dramatic to say that being cut from my job saved my life, but before I leave this story I need to explain. Psalm 37: 1-7 (NLT) reads: read more...
The Cut That Saved My Life! Part II
August 10, 2009
I will never forget the year that I was in so much turmoil, so restless, I felt my life was going to change, but had no idea how. I even tried to make it change by applying for new jobs – none of which I really wanted. Every day the rumor mill kept me in a state of panic – so many in our department were going to be cut – deep down I knew that I was one of them. read more...

There is An Answer to Your Question!
August 8, 2009
As I close out this week of looking at the book of Proverbs, I wanted to look at one chapter that I have quoted most – and though I have made many Proverbs a directive for my life – perhaps the sixteenth chapter has more verses that I have quoted than any other: read more...
Finding the Tree of Life!
August 7, 2009
For centuries men searched diligently for the fountain of youth, which by legend is a place where one could find eternal youth. Many believe that it is found in Florida, and even today thousands of people retire and go to Florida where they hope to have a young and vibrant life! Inwardly many still search for that special life-giving source that will enable them to have all knowledge and gain all truth! We find in the book of Proverbs, that they which find wisdom can partake of the tree of life: read more...
Wisdom is a Hater!
August 6, 2009
We often hear the expression today, don’t be a hater! It has been a very popular way for friends and even those who are not friends to caution other people that they shouldn’t be jealous of another; depending upon the grace in which it is said, it can be a gentle reminder that we should rejoice with others when they are blessed and not be envious. read more...

How Do We Gain Wisdom?
August 4, 2009
God, being wisdom, knew that we not know how to get wisdom unless it was clearly spelled out. In Proverbs 3 we see specific instructions to help us attain wisdom. Due to the length of the proverb I am going to highlight the instructions in bold and then the subsequent result will be in italic for several of these instructions. I find this chapter fascinating – I hope you do too. read more...
Why Do We Need Wisdom?
August 3, 2009
Most of the problems we run into are because we made decisions that were based on either emotion or faulty information. We use the expression “charge it to my head and not my heart” when we forget something, but the truth be told in the light of day – when we take action, it is usually the “heart” and not the “head” that directs our steps. And unfortunatley far too many times when we think we are making decisions based on gathering information, we find that the information is slanted, or not complete. read more...
The Wisdom Lives On…
August 2, 2009
Last night I attended a Leadership Retreat sponsored by Chosen Daughters of Destiny. One thing they did was listen to five women of various ages tell their stories prior to hearing the main speaker for the evening. I realized after hearing those stories, I have really not heard it all! read more...
