An Interesting Request!

Last week we issued a Call to Men to send posts to HeartLife! While our ministry is not gender specific, many of our main writers have been women. Due to the response we have had – we hope that will change – and we will have both the male and female persepctive in the future on a regular basis. One person who heard the “Call” was my nephew Avery Kyle – following is his respose to that call. In fact, it is a “call” to men – if you are inclined to join his blog – his e-mail information is listed at the end!

A men’s discussion

A few months ago I was in a dilemma with myself, whether or not to attend a non faith based men’s meeting. I made the decision to attend the meeting and found it to be very interesting and disturbing at the same time.
I was very interested in how all the men opened up and were honest with feelings they had no matter how misinformed or out of reality they were even to the point of vulnerability. Some were so honest even admitting to not feeling safe. What made these men open up to the questions asked in front of all of these other men? Was it just a place where people would listen without judgment?

To all the men that read this, I would like you to respond to these two very simple questions.

1. What are you joyful about?
2. What are you angry about?

Even though these seem to be very simple answers look deep in you and give the answer.
