Safety in Counsel! by Neesha M. Stringfellow

Proverbs 11:14
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Proverbs 24:6
For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.

Many people shun counseling, why I don’t know, as far back as I can remember I recognized the importance of wise counsel, I teach my children the same principles. The scriptures tell us that we are safe when we have counsel. We all know it must be WISE counsel, someone we believe can give us the best wisdom possible. People fall into traps that I believe they don’t have to because of forsaking wise counsel.
A few years ago, I was told by my husband that I needed to seek counseling, then it was see a psychaitrist and then it became simply “woman you need to go and get some help” ” you are starting to take things out on me and this family that have nothing to do with us”! So instead of continuing to take offense, I chose to seek out counsel. I recognized there were areas in my life that needed to be addressed. Feeling embarrassed and hurt, I took the advise of Wes and it paid off in so many ways. I realized that in order for me to be the best person God created me to be I needed to heal from my past, work on my present. We can avoid so many hurdles in our relationships if we allow certain areas which have never been dealt with to become open.
The HolySpirit leads and guides us into all truth… and if have the HolySpirit down on the inside of you, you have no other choice but to seek out how to walk in wisdom and realize the only way you can become and effective witness is to Seek wise counsel.
THe body of Christ is there, we have Pastors, Teachers, Preachers and so much more to build us up.

So today there might be areas in your life where your relationships could be better, you could be better, I encourage you to seek wise counsel. You are never to old, and never too wise, I always say “THE BEST COUNSELORS NEED COUNSELING”!
One of the main reasons I continue to follow this plan, is so my children will not suffer with many of the generational curses which can attach themselves by me not letting go of my past. Every past is not painful and hard, sometimes they are just learning experiences for us to be better teachers.
Stay encouraged and know that Gods way is the best way and He has equipped Men and Women of God with gifts to assist in getting us to the place He wants us to be!
So whether you are in need of Personal, Marriage, or Family Counseling! Don’t Delay!

Good word, Neesha. One of the best things I ever did was to get Christian counseling many years ago. God used the counselor to help me see things more clearly “when I couldn;t see the forest for the trees”, to get beyond my past and to forgive those who did the best they could with what they knew. God bless.
