and then:.
Draw me close to you, never let me go, I lay it all down again, just to say that Im your friend… draw me close to you, Your’e all I want, Your’e all Ive ever needed, your’e all I want help me know you are near…..
So many songs ringing in my heart:
Great is thy faithfulness Oh God my father, there is no shadow of turning with thee, thou changest not, thy compassion they fail not, as thou hast been, thou forever will be… Great is thy faithfulness, Great is thy faithfulness, morning by morning, new mercies I see, all I have needed thy hand have provided, Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto mee….

Attention! Attention! Calling all Christians! by Min. Alexander Mattison

July 20, 2009

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! Calling all Christians. Why DOES GOD LOVE US?
So many people struggle with this question. According to the Bible Gods word, He created the Heavens & the Earth, in the beginning when there was nothing. There with in that statement lies our answer. We have existed since the beginning within God’s mind. God decided to create something from nothing, taking the earth without form, and void, transforming it from his own perspective with words into a magnificent existence of complexity such as light, darkness, color, texture, and an array of beauty that is detailed in so many ways that even the mind of one of his creations that he holds most dear will never fully understand. A multitude of creations so complex even 100 life times of study, intellect, experiments and observations would not be sufficient enough to know or explain everything. A GOD that would create a creature in his own image, blessing it, giving it power and dominion over everything that moves upon the earth, breathing into its nostrils the breathe of life and giving it a soul.
Precious gifts that no other creation was given. Favor through LOVE. 1 Corinthians 6-10 states that love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. GOD’S truth that he loves us, we were created from love. 7 Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, and because of his word he will never stop loving us. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease: where there are tongues, they will be stilled: where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes the imperfect disappears. Love in all of its complexity in the end will still exist.
This is the reason why GOD LOVES YOU. Stay encouraged. read more...

The City of Regret ” Shared by Unknown Author”

Food for thought!
- I had not really planned on taking a trip this time of year, and yet I found myself packing rather hurriedly. This trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it. I’m talking about my annual “Guilt Trip.” read more...

What on earth am I here for?

July 18, 2009

I remember this question being asked so clearly as I read the pages of the the best seller for many years, Pastor Rick Warren’s ” THe Purpose Driven Life”, and yet its ringing in my ears again as I have communicated to lots of people who are questioning the same thing. There is a purpose for our lives, nothing is by accident, God had us in mind from the moment of conception until now. Often times when the hustle and bustle of life continues, we sometimes get stuck and forget that we have a purpose to fufill.
I remember my dad used to preach a message and used the analogy of the chair and its purpose, and how we never question whether or not the chair will hold us, we instantly see it and sit down, because we have faith enough to believe that it will accomplish the purpose in which it was created.
I believe this is how God wants us to be. We need to have the faith to know there is a purpose for our lives. We must fufill that purpose. Discouragment will set in many times to take you off the path of the reason you were created..
Using myself as an example, I have come to recognize that at each stage of life, there is a new purpose, sometimes to bring happiness to those around you, sometimes to create a learning experience for someone else by your mistakes, however no matter where you find yourself in life, I have learned the reason I was created was to glorify the father, to honor and reverence Him in every way I can.
If I am not bringing glory to God then I am defeating the purpose in which I was created!
I was created to worship Him, whether washing dishes, visiting the sick, styling someones hair, or simply resting in the evening, I understand that with all my doing, I must worship God! This is my purpose!
So if you were confused about your purpose, simply remind yourself, that no matter what your will praise and bring glory to God!
You will remind your Daddy God that you were His idea and therefore you will trust Him in every area of your life, and you will fufill purpose!
God Bless You

Take A Praise Break! by Neesha Maria Stringfellow

July 17, 2009

When is the last time you stopped and took a praise break, a moment to reflect on the goodness of God! A moment to set aside everything else going on in your life and just give thanks to God! We all know the common phrase, “when praises go up, blessings come down!” Such a true statement because when you choose to praise God, every other care becomes so small. One of my favorite Psalms is Psalms 150. read more...

The Family that Prays Together….by Neesha Maria Stringfellow

July 15, 2009

I recall as a little girl, always hearing a shout from the bottom of the stairs, Neeeesha, Shaaanna, wake up, get up, I am about to leave, “everyone get up”, and every morning for as long as I can remember as long as we were in my mothers house, we had to wake up and have prayer before the day started, even if we were off for the summer, before my mom left for work, we were torchered to get up 5am, 6am, etc… and get up to pray.
To this very day, I wake my girls up and we have prayer before our day gets started, sometimes I give them a break in the summer. I have learned the importance of praying together as a family. I am reminded of the song Shirley Ceasor sang when she talked about kidding around in the back yard and playing church when she was a little girl, she played so much until finally the HolySpirit touched her and she was filled in the back yard while playing church.
Our children and families may never understand the sacrifices that are made to pull everyone together to pray, but in the long run it pays off.
My mom started Family Prayer about 7 years ago, and all of us our guilty of letting it fall short from time to time, but conviction has set in as a reminder to get back on the wall.
My mom usually prepares a meal, and calls the family together to pray. THis is a time where we can reflect on God’s goodness, testimonies are shared, and prayer request are given. Miracles have happened over and over again because we took time to come together and agree that “the family that prays together, stays together! As the psalmist wrote … As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!
My mom just had surgery and is recovering well, but we have fallen short in the monthly family prayer that she normally hosts, today I plan to gather my family together to have a longoverdue family prayer. I would like to encourage you to do the same… it causes unity where there might be division, encouragment when some might need it, and simply great fellowship! This is a season where families get together for reunions, graduation parties, summer bashes, and so much more. I encourage you today, gather your family together, cook a meal, and share the goodness of God! Your family may not have over 20 people like ours, you may just have 4, but start a tradition that your children will keep alive forever! Maybe you did come together for a birthday, reunion, or simply a dinner, whatever the occasion take some time to give glory and honor to the Almighty! Prayer changes things!
We gave my mom soooo much trouble when we were in her home, and now my children give me a hard time when I wake them up, but guess what, I will not be suprised that their children will give them trouble also…. from generation to generation!
I would like to personally thank my mom for building our home on the foundation of Prayer!
Start today!
God Bless You!

THE TILTING OF THE SCALE: WHICH WAY IS YOURS LEANING? By Evangelist Sandra Camper

July 14, 2009

It usually comes with big bold numbers and you have to step up on it. You have guessed right, I am speaking of the infamous weight scale. Most of us avoid it at all costs. If you are anything like me when I have to visit the doctor, I usually tell the nurse to write the results down on the paper so the results will avoid my ears. Why do I have this response? Because I know that the scale is tilting too much in the wrong direction and it sounds the alarm that I need to make some changes. Well just like the natural weight scale there is a spiritual one. God’s people are carrying too much weight. We are hard pressed and over whelmed with the cares of this life. We are spiritually burdened and lethargic. read more...

GOD HAS A PLAN – FAMILY! By Laetitia Benberry

July 13, 2009

Two of my favorite scriptures have been Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, not for your destruction, but to give you a future and a hope” and “What was meant for evil, God meant/turned it to good” Genesis 50:20. I always enjoy the posts on Heartlife Ministries but was really blessed by Evangelist Camper’s article Pregnant with Purpose and her noting Jeremiah 1:5a, “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee”. read more...
