Lord, Give Me What I Need! Part II

I don’t know about you, but I have learned when I have a real problem that the person I get over the phone, or at the front desk is not usually the person who can really help me! Most of the time the decision maker is not the person you come initially come in contact with. To get the help I need I have learned that it necessary to go to the one in charge! And how sweet it is when we know the person in charge – by name!

Our Father God, who is in charge, has given us the right to come directly to Him; Jesus broke the veil of the temple that was separating that free access- and we can not only come to Him and speak to Him, but because of our adoption as children of God, we can call Him, Abba Father (Daddy God)!

Moses was raised in the courts of Pharoh. He understood the relationship between Pharoh and his subjects. And, as one of the family, albeit even an adopted member, he also understood the rights and privileges of those who belonged to Pharoh’s family. When God appeared to Moses to fulfill the assignment on his life, there was life preparation to equip him for the task of both dealing with leadership and walking in leadership.

We too are equipped to assume the assignment God has given us. Our life experiences have given us the tools we need to perform the task, what might be our greatest problem is understanding the line of authority that it will take to open the doors necessary to be able to work! God has clearly outlined in His Word that line of authority. Consider this passage of scripture from Romans 8: 15 – 17 (MSG)

“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!”

When we are able to take our problem to the CEO of the company, we get encouraged, because we know that the CEO has not only the means to make a decision in our favor, he also has the power! When we take our problems to God our Father we need to expect the same thing. God not only has the means, but unlike the CEO of a company, He has ALL power to do everything we need done, and how much more for those of His children He has sent forth on assignment!

Moses was given several assignments during the forty year walk around Mt. Sinai. When God wanted Moses to do something, He gave Him clear directions; but we still find out that even with this, the covenant with Moses was not superior to the one fulfilled in Jesus. And most of all, this new covenant is based on better promises!

“This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.: Hebrews 8– 5-7 (NIV)

So, if Moses could approach God as one who knew His name, and expected to see His glory, what can we, His children expect when we ask Him for what we need!

God Bless You,
Maria
