When All is Said and Done…

July 31, 2009

“Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a city and spend a year there and carry on our business and make money.
Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow. What is the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air].
You ought instead to say, If the Lord is willing, we shall live and we shall do this or that [thing].” James 4: 13-15 (AMP)

Lord, Give Me What I Need! Part II

July 30, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I have learned when I have a real problem that the person I get over the phone, or at the front desk is not usually the person who can really help me! Most of the time the decision maker is not the person you come initially come in contact with. To get the help I need I have learned that it necessary to go to the one in charge! And how sweet it is when we know the person in charge – by name! read more...

Lord, Give Me What I Need!

July 29, 2009

Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” read more...

The Circle of Life!

July 28, 2009

The other day I watched The Lion King with one of my granddaughters. It was a memorable experience, because although she is only six she is a very perceptive child and she challenged some of Disney’s drama that did not fit into her understanding. It was an eye opening experience to hear her questions and be able to address them so she would not leave believing error instead of truth! One of the things she wanted to know was how could Mafouseh be able to live in Simba – how’s that for a six year old! read more...

Are you Healthy?

July 27, 2009

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
I recall a message I heard over 5 years ago. Pastor James Rile came to my church, Christian Life Center and spoke a word and from the moment it came out of His mouth, it stuck to my heart and mind like glue and the words have never left my mind.
Healthy things grow
Growing things change
Changing things challenge
Challenge brings trust
Trust brings obedience
Obedience makes us Healthy
Healthy things grow
The cycle of Life! I recognize just like a plant, if a plant continues to grow it is healthy. Anything growing changes its formation. It is recognizable, it does not stay the same. Changing things will challenge, change sometimes can be very uncomfortable. Challenges cause us to trust, and because we are God’s children we have to learn to lean and depend on God. We trust Him to walk in His will, knowing He knows whats best for us. Trust will cause us to be obedient if we love God.
Obedience make us healthy! Healthy things grow!
I am determined to continue to be healthy! Let’s encourage one another and not get discouraged when things are uncomfortable, or change, it is a very important cycle of life. Remember that if we continue to trust the father, and be obedient to Him, we will remain healthy.
God Bless You!

Pay Attention! by Neesha M. Stringfellow

July 27, 2009

A word of wisdom for all parents. I happened to be sitting in the room with my youngest daughter and asking her who was she chatting with online, she told me it was a guy who she plays UNO with online.
The innocence of my daughter not knowing how dangerous it can be just by playing a game online. Without overreacting I told my daughter the seriousness of the situation. Okay maybe I did go a little crazy to get the point accross.
I thought I would share this today because many parents get so busy with the hustle and bustle of life and don’t pay attention to our children. I recognize that the Lord wants us to slow down and raise our children in the fear of the Lord, however if we are too busy we will miss whats going on in their life.
When I was growing up I did not know that I would get caught in everything I did wrong, no matter how big or small it was. I always got busted. The Lord made sure my parents would show up at just the right time. I have prayed for this very thing to happen to my children, and if you ask them the would agree that this has happened to them over and over again. I told the devil, He can not have my home, and my children, God has given me authority and dominion to see the adversary and command him to flee. The famous saying ” not on my watch” not with my eyes open. I believe the Holyspirit lets us know whats going on in our childrens lives…. but are WE LISTENING?
More and more we hear about the statistics of the world with circumstances I believe can be prevented.
Its great to do the work of the ministry, Its awesome to be called by God to fufill His will for our lives, but I have come to PAY ATTENTION to the fact that my first ministry is to my children. I was given the assignment to raise my children in the FEAR OF THE LORD!
The scripture says… what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul…… There are many revelations for this scripture but the Lord
gave me revelation on this scripture for me and my house, its okay to be busy, its okay to preach to the masses, counsel the world, travel the entire country, becoming successful in the eyes of man, but it does not mean a thing when your entire household is out of order. What is the point if your children are lost and you have saved the entire world. The two to me don’t mix.
I heard the Lord say to me “Pay Attention” and yes I have taken heed over and over again, and today is another day to go deeper and continue to Pay Attention! I encourage you to do the same!
God Bless You!

Your Body, God’s Temple Honor God with It! By Laetitia Benberry

July 25, 2009

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore brethren to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable or pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.
I Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a TEMPLE of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your body. read more...

Joy Cometh in the Morning!

July 24, 2009

Psalm 30:4,5 says:
Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones!
Praise his holy name
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
Thinking about the awesomeness of God and How are weeping never last always, but Joy comes in the morning. For all mothers who have given birth to children, can remember the entire 9 mos, you go through morning sickness and when it comes time for the delivery, the labor pains hit, wow, I remember it like yesterday. However out of everything that I remember , the most memorable moment was the joy of giving birth to my daughters.
Isn’t it amazing how you forget and only remember the JOY of the child rather than the pain. (LOL) Well some of us forget and have more than one child!
This also reminds me of how every morning I arise no matter how late I get to bed, no matter how I have an attitude about having to be at work at 5am, no matter how tired I am and beat up I feel, by morning I feel refreshed. Now everyone does not have this gift, many drag and need a stiff cup of coffee to get them moving! I believe spiritually, sometimes our weeping endures too long because we choose not to wake up, our joy is in the morning, but sometimes we choose to stay in the night hour! One of my favorite scriptures is … morning by morning new mercies I see… how will we see if we don’t wake up to our morning! Israel Houghton sings the song, Tradin my sorrows, Tradin my shame, laying them down for the joy of the Lord, and at the end of the song, it says, Wake Up! Its Morning Wake Up! Its Morning! Truly its time to WAKE UP! Its MORNING! read more...
