Houses and Other Important Things!

June 18, 2009

Every day I look at HGTV – I love looking at houses; I don’t look at them because I am coveting, God has been too good to me to desire that which someone else has. However, I love to look at the style of different houses and the way they are decorated and I try to guess which potential house the buyer will pick to become their own. I also have never had my dream home and I study the different houses to develop my dream! read more...

Do We Pray in Vain?

June 17, 2009

Not too long ago I was going through some papers and retrieved a prayer that I had prayed every day during one of my most difficult years at work. One of the people that I worked with literally made a complaint to someone against me every day for over a year. I felt helpless to do anything about it – few came to me to find out my side, and of those that did they never really encouraged me that anything positive was going to happen. I prayed anyway! read more...

What Are You Passing On?

June 16, 2009

One of the greatest gifts one generation can give to another generation is the gift of a legacy of faith. Faith can’t be inherited like the proceeds from a 401K, or even through designating it in a well written will. Faith in God and in His Word is taught – not caught! Scripture instructs us with these words: read more...

There is None Like Him!

One of the phenomenal things about God is with all of His glory and grandeur and power and might – He still loves us so much that He wants to share with us in His plan and operation. He doesn’t keep secrets, that which He wants to do, He shouts it from the housetops. read more...

He’s Still There!

June 14, 2009

One of my favorite songs that Larnelle Harris sings is one that comes back to haunt me from time to time, because it speaks directly to my heart. The song is entitled, “I Miss My Time With You,” – and it’s a love letter from the Father directly to His very busy children. I’m sorry I don’t have capability to do a live feed yet, but the words literally sing off the page: read more...

Finding the Escape Route!

June 13, 2009

Earlier this week I wrote about facing a challenge – one that I was very concerned about. I felt I had been positioned to go THROUGH this test, but there seemed to be roadblocks everywhere! On Sunday evening the enemy was able to get to my emotions, and cause me to have a little pity-party. Writing that evening and confessing God’s Word put me on straight street. I went to bed feeling as if I would have a solution at least to one my dilemmas. read more...

Trust, Delight, Commit!

June 12, 2009

There are so many things to do in a day, that it is almost essential to keep a “To-Do List! I have found that one of the best ways to sort through my thoughts and bring my petition to the Lord, is to also make a list. A list of prayer petitions, a list of heart’s desires, a list of hopes and dreams. In Psalm 37 we find a simple plan that helps us to sort through our scattered thoughts and emotions and bring them before the Lord: read more...

There has beens some discussion as to the spiritual state that Solomon was in when he wrote the book of Ecclesiastes -it could have been his many wives and their gods had him a bit jaded, and that is the reason that there is more than touch of cynicism in this book! read more...

God’s Plans

Jeremiah 29:11 is a familiar scripture, quoted often by those who are hanging on to a word of encouragement and hope. It is no doubt that it is a wonderful promise. The problem with taking one scripture and hanging all your hopes and dreams on it, is that if you take it out of context you might miss out on a very important criteria. read more...

The Perfect Law of Liberty!

June 9, 2009

“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.
But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.
Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1: 22-27 (MSG)
