Let the Redeemed of the Lord, SAY SO!
Yesterday I had a problem on my job with a difficult teacher. She made me want to go there (if you know what I mean). The situation is too lengthy to describe, it has been going on for about six months – she is the thorn in my flesh – the instrument used to show me that I still have some buttons that can be pushed.
I have history with button pushers that gives me an edge. For just about four years ago there was someone who tried to be the Queen of button pushers in my life! Daily she went out of her way to see how she could make my life difficult. And she didn’t stop there – she also told everyone who listened how incompetent I was – and why I needed to be let go. She tried to cause distrust with those I worked with – and constantly sent a barrage of e-mails to our superiors citing things that made my work appear faulty. I was unable to fight back- how do you try to refute accusations and try to defend yourself without looking like you’re guilty!
Many years ago I went to a graduation at Oral Roberts University and Oral spoke, he said he never tried to fight accusations or naysayers. He let the Lord fight his battles! That stuck with me and this is the course of action I chose to take – no action – I left the battle in the hands of the Lord. The action I did take was to pray “Prayer for the Workplace” and in this prayer I asked God to “guide every decision made in this place.”
The first year – there were just a few accusations – the second year was a full fledged onslaught of attack. Without fail, every day an attack would come – every day the battle intensified – she literally did everything she could to get me fired! The one thing she didn’t know and something few people who engage in this activity know is – when you become known for tearing down someone, people feel that you will do the same to them – so they don’t trust you.
Long story short – it came to a point where I realized I had to make some decisions – and the constant harrassment and the unshaky environment I was working in – prompted me to retire (there was much more to it than I have time to discuss). Just as I suspected they got rid of our department and thus this woman was out of a job too; everyone would have to re-apply! When this woman re-applied – she had to go before one of my very best friends – who knew well what this woman had tried to do to me – guess what – she did not get the job! Instead, I was called back to the job as a consultant – which I have worked in every day for three years! What happened to the woman – she had to retire and she has not returned!
Psalm 103: 1-2 says:
1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy
I was, am, and continue to be redeemed this day from the hand of my enemies – I SAY SO!
God Bless You,
Maria
