Building a House for God

May 19, 2009 by

Today was my oldest granddaughter Kristen’s twentieth birthday. After having a very busy week, I was searching through my files for a post and I remembered that I began this – and put it aside to finish later. I had a thought that I was not able to complete at the time and possibly won’t complete tonight, it may take one of my daughtes or sons to complete it. I heard the familiar expression He is the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob – and I thought He is the God of Maria, Neesha, and Kristen…God does not see us as individuals, He sees us as generations – with each generation contributing to that which iHe is building.

David was not able to fulfill his greatest heart’s desire and that was to build a house for God. Yet he made the way for that house so to speak to be built – for he caused the land to be at peace which enabled Solomon to be able to focus, not on unrest, but on building the house!

“David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, [saying],
[Is] not the LORD your God with you? and hath he [not] given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
1 Chronicles 22:17-10

David created vision, he created legacy, he created a nation of people that responded to his leadership. He fought diligently until there was rest in the land – and prosperity. Everything was ready for the building of the house. David had shed innocent blood and he was not able to build God’s hosue – but he had instilled within Solomon the capacity to receive wisdom and understanding beyond his years – and Solomon was ready to do the job assigned to his hand.

I was talking to one of my other daughters tonight -and she preached a message to me, when I told her I was very tired and needed rest because I had a hard day at work. She told me to Command Peace over my situation. I receive that word – for my peace has been paid for by those who came before me – the faithful saints who fought against all odds – to bring a time of peace and prosperity that even a recession can’t hinder (I’m not participating in the recession, how about you?)

COMMAND PEACE – walk in your heritage – if you even have a mind to look at this post – someone before you paid a price for you to have a mind to seek the things of God! WALK in your inheritance – live out your legacy – build the house that is at your hand – watch God bless your children’s children!

God Bless You,
Maria
