Half-past DayBreak!

That night the answer to the mystery was given to Daniel in a vision. Daniel blessed the God of heaven, saying,
“Blessed be the name of God,
forever and ever.

He knows all, does all:
He changes the seasons and guides history,
He raises up kings and also brings them down,
he provides both intelligence and discernment,
He opens up the depths, tells secrets,
sees in the dark—light spills out of him!
God of all my ancestors, all thanks! all praise!
You made me wise and strong.
And now you’ve shown us what we asked for.
You’ve solved the king’s mystery.” Daniel 2:16-22 (MSG)

Monday we are looking at the sixth month of 2009 – before we know it -summer will have come and gone and we will be entering fall and winter again and celebrating Christmas! I used to wonder when the days would end – as I desperately wanted to put the children to bed and get a few minutes of quiet time. Now the days end much too quickly, before I even have a chance to do half of what I need to do!

Because I am an eternal student, my year has begun in September and ended in June for many, many years. Every year at this time since I retired, I have to make a decision – hustle to find a job – or believe that the bills will be paid while I get the rest I so desperately need.

This year has been particularly challenging for a number of reasons and all that is within me would like to run away to a lakeside cabin and just stare across the horizon from sunrise to sunset for a few weeks. The more practical side of my nature remembers those bills I placed on my dresser.

I hear this voice saying, “The times and the seasons are in My Hands! I’ve heard that voice before – it’s the one that is there every time I reach a juncture in the road that necessitates me making a decision, choosing a course of action. I trust that voice, it is the voice of my Father – and when I listen it goes on to say something much like the scripture i quoted above. For God does indeed set the times and the seasons in His Hands; He does set up kings and take them down; He does give revelation and wisdom; and “God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all”

I trust that voice that leads me and I know whichever road He tells me to go on – I will be blessed on that road – and the way will be made, either one way or another.

Thank you Lord for all that You do for me; all that You are to me; all that I become in You – for indeed “I live and move and have my being – in You!
