House Rules! – Part I
From the gambling room to the highest governmental elected offices – groups of like kind play by House Rules. Generally these rules are made up by the members of the organization and they are not usually published – they are unique to the group and those in the group understand them. God does not want His people trying to gamble their way through life and when He set up house – he established some Housekeeping Rules and in the fullness of time, those rules were published so that even non-members would be able to understand the blessings found in following the rules, and the consequences of not following them. The mysteries of everyday life were removed and mankind was able to see clearly how to live!
If we go back to the very first book of the Bible we see the first and foremost plan for mankind:
“God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,
the birds in the air, the cattle,
And, yes, Earth itself,
and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God’s nature.
He created them male and female.
God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!
Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds.” Genesis 1:26-28 (MSG)
From the very onset of His creation of this great earth, God established some housekeeping rules to govern it. He made mankind in His image and in His likeness and He decreed that they were to be responsible for every thing upon the earth, and not only the earth – also the fish in the sea and the birds in the air! God commissioned man to rule and reign over all His created beings. God did not stop there, He gave man the creative ability that He possessed and also the ability to reproduce mankind. The second housekeeping rule was to prosper with the gifts given him and then to pass those gifts on to the next generation – he was commanded to reproduce and fill the earth – not only with people, but with a legacy of his experience and production. Not only was he given the right to “take charge” – he was to pass this dominion on to those who came after him.
The first set of housekeeping rules came with only one directive – “do not eat of the tree of knowledge.” Not fully understanding that they already possessed it ALL, they listened to the lies of the serpent who told them that God did not want them to be wise – He was trying to keep something from them – something that they needed.
Over 4000 years ago as God began to speak to man clearly and distinctly His plan, the process, the progress, and the prophecy (what was to come). God wanted “ALL” to know what the rules were of the house and after the invention of the printing press in 1400 they were not only available to the learned and the wealthy, but to the “whosever.” All the earth began to filled with the glory of God as His word became available. With all of this, published housekeeping rules for planet earth and every one on it, how could man miss it? Join me as we continue this week exploring God’s housekeeping rules!
God Bless You,
