Housekeeping Rule #3 – Love the Lord thy God

April 30, 2009

“This is the commandment, the rules and regulations, that God, your God, commanded me to teach you to live out in the land you’re about to cross into to possess. This is so that you’ll live in deep reverence before God lifelong, observing all his rules and regulations that I’m commanding you, you and your children and your grandchildren, living good long lives.
Listen obediently, Israel. Do what you’re told so that you’ll have a good life, a life of abundance and bounty, just as God promised, in a land abounding in milk and honey.
Attention, Israel!
God, our God! God the one and only!
Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!” Deuteronomy 6: 1-4 (MSG)

Housekeeping Rule # 2 – Leave and Cleave!

April 29, 2009

“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the [place with] flesh. And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh and she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:21-24 (AMP

House Rules! – Part I

April 28, 2009

From the gambling room to the highest governmental elected offices – groups of like kind play by House Rules. Generally these rules are made up by the members of the organization and they are not usually published – they are unique to the group and those in the group understand them. God does not want His people trying to gamble their way through life and when He set up house – he established some Housekeeping Rules and in the fullness of time, those rules were published so that even non-members would be able to understand the blessings found in following the rules, and the consequences of not following them. The mysteries of everyday life were removed and mankind was able to see clearly how to live! read more...

Restoring the Dream!

April 27, 2009

On Saturday I attended an annual event – the Pro-Life/Pro-Family Coalition Conference. This year’s theme was Restoring the Dream! There were many great things that took place, but two of them I want to share. The main speaker, Pastor Harold Arrington and his wife Barbara of 55 years were able to share not only of the sustaining love that they have had for each other throughout their marriage – with one of their sons and daughters bearing witness (they have nine children); but they also told of thier courtship 56 years ago – a period of time getting to know each other in purity and holiness. Pastor Arrington delivered a powerful message on life -so reminiscent of the many days I heard him on the radio and television, a pioneer in local Christian television boldly proclalimiing God’s word – with an authority that made you believe! read more...

The Blessings in the Lessons!

April 25, 2009

I cannot leave this series without declaring that every lesson, no matter how long it took me to learn it- brought a multitude of blessings! I hear Marvin Sapp singing, “Never Would Have Made It – and the end refrain – I’m stronger, I’m wiser, I’m better – much better – I would have lost it all, but now I see that You were there for me -” read more...

To Cast All My Care Upon Him!
“Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.” 1 Peter 5: 8-11 (MSG) read more...

Forgiving Myself For Not Being Perfect!

“I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.” Romans 7: 21-25 (NLT) read more...

Being Doubleminded
“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” James 1:5-8 (MSG) read more...

Dealing With Anger bodybuilding oral human growth hormone

The simplest definition of anger is:
an·ger (nggr) n. A strong feeling of displeasure or hostility.
If you continue looking at this definition it will give you synonyms which include wrath, rage, fury, resentment, and indignation. If you have ever suffered from an anger problem you know that though these synonyms are more intense in nature, they are sure to follow anger unleashed! Many of us consider our cause to be an indignation that is righteous and we justify unleashing strong emotion, feeling we are acting like God in laying out what is right and what is wrong. read more...

Not Developing Muscle!

Two things came from my not enjoying exercise – one, is that I discovered that muscles not properly exercised can soften and become subject to invasion by dis–ease. For many years my flexibility and ability to ignore pain kept me moving so fast I didn’t think about what the consequences would be of not having a regular exercise routine – believe me it’s worth more than dropping a dress size! read more...
