A "Chosen" Destiny!

February 21, 2009 by

Today we are privileged to have a “due season” word from one of our spiritual daughters who is the Co-Founder of Chosen Daughters of Destiny, a ministry and mentoring group for young women ages 10-24. Chosen Daughters of Destiny believe that the best way for young women to be happy and fulfilled is to do it God’s way… enjoy her testimony!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables Habakkuk 2:2 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

As a child, growing up it was always my desire to be independent and successful. This is when I began on the journey that leads to destiny. While on my journey, I was faced with challenges that were not necessarily by choice but by default. Based on my experience, I desired to be the opposite of what I had witnessed. I became a perfectionist, wanting everything in my world to be a certain way, in essence perfect, which understandably was not realistic. As a child and adolescent, I thought I could be perfect. Because of my understanding and relationship with Christ, I began to write and declare what I wanted to come into fruition for my life. I wanted to be independent and successful so I knew that I needed an education and a career.

I pursed my education and was blessed to get in my field right out of college. Once you complete your education and have a career, society tells you that you have to get married. Again, here I was writing and declaring what I wanted to happen in my life. I began journaling the type of man I desired and years went by and no potentials. I re-focused and began understanding my purpose as a single woman. In my singleness, two ministries were birthed Chosen Daughters of Destiny, Inc. and a Singles Ministry. Through my service unto the Lord, He was preparing me for my future. Doing the work of Chosen Daughters of Destiny, Inc. an old friend came to mind to participate on CDOD’s Male panel. God did a quick work! That male who was willing to participate in CDOD is now my husband. What is amazing about my husband is that we have been friends for eight years. God had him in my view all these years. However, God had to prepare me. To God be the glory! If you believe and understand your purpose as a single, God is able to give you the desires of your heart. My prayer is that you may be blessed richly by my experience!

Remember…. And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Ephesians 1:10 NLT
